Planning Commission

The planning commission consists of seven volunteer members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the city council. Members serve four-year terms and must be residents of the city.

Responsibilities

The primary charge of the planning commission is to make legislative recommendations to the city council on matters related to long-range land use planning including the comprehensive plan amendments, zoning text amendments, and area-wide rezones. Meetings

The planning commission meets at 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of every month.


Minutes & Recordings
The City of Gig Harbor maintains minutes of the official proceedings in which city business is conducted. The recordings and action minutes are posted and available to the public as soon as possible.
