Responsibilities
The City of Gig Harbor’s Operations Division is responsible for the maintenance of the City's infrastructure including roads, storm drains, parks, water, and City-owned facilities and fleet equipment. 

Services
In order to provide the businesses and citizens of Gig Harbor with the best possible service, Operations is open during business hours, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Call 253-530-6888 for after-hours emergencies.

Operations Improvement Study

As part of the City's 2017-18 Budget, the Public Works Department initiated a study with FCS Group to look for improvements and efficiencies in the Public Works Operations Division. The study developed Operations Division Levels of Service and an Operations Action Plan based upon input from City Council and City staff. In summary, the study found a significant backlog of maintenance due to substantial increases in Public Works assets but no increases in staffing. The full findings from the FCS Group study are contained in this December 2017 report.
