Household hazardous waste is leftover and unwanted hazardous products and material generated from single and multi-family households. Many common household items, from cleaning supplies to yard chemicals and electronics to medical syringes, are considered hazardous materials that need special handling. Never throw hazardous products in the garbage, down the sink or toilet, into a storm drain or on the ground.
